Love & Chewing Gum

She tells me about her husband, Harry Lewis. They were married for 57 years. "I lost him three years ago," she says, with the air of someone who thinks she might find him again --- down the back of the sofa, or under the fridge. He played the saxophone.

"I don't think I thought much of him at first," she said. "He wooed me with chewing gum."
