RALPH:Subject: Review of My Bloody Life
Just as a final note on the book.
I live on the corner of Kedzie and Armitage. The area has gentrified a great deal, but I'm told that if I, as a white woman, would have lived here five years ago, I would have been raped and killed within the first week.
There are gang signs carved in the gorgeous woodwork of my 1896 graystone apartment, but this neighborhood has a far richer history than this book.
It was once a beautiful affluent place and it's slowly on it's way back.
I heard from some locals at a bar that Raymundo Sanchez lives in protective custody in a far south suburb somewhere, not exactly in the witness protection program, but in custody or something. Who knows if it's true. Just thought you'd like to know since you enjoyed the book.....

I live only minutes from San Diego, yet never heard of RALPH until five minutes ago.
I was googling for "The Tightrope Walker" by Jean Genet, and that's how I found a ralphessay by one Jean-Louis Parmentier, and at the bottom of it your link.
Thank you. Not much to talk about till I delve ... which, believe me, I'll be doing.
