I just read part of your comments about Oxnam's book on multiple personalities.

Someone I know referred me to that book, because I have another friend that has it and I was trying to understand him.

Your comments show you haven't had any one on one interaction with someone with this condition.

In both of my friends' cases, it was caused by severe childhood trauma. SEVERE physical and psychological abuse.

I suggest you go to MaleSurvivor.org, and chat with a few of the men there with MPD. Find out their stories. It has a special section on survivors' stories. It's shocking, what some children survive.
