RE: Six Wars at a Time
Dear RALPH
The Leslie Heavers review of Six Wars seemed poorly reasoned, non-objective and without any merit at all.
The author was reviewing Gutzon Borglum and condemning a dead man instead of looking at the book in and for itself. This type of hasty analysis reveals the same prejudices for which it condemns Borglum!
I found the book well-researched, objective and honest. It did not conceal Borglum's flaws, but neither did it throw the baby out with the bath water.I think Heavers needs to review his own process, maybe look "at the man in the mirror" instead of simply projecting all of his own opinions and prejudices onto a decomposing screen.
