Punkin' Patch produced by Dave Gardner
Here is some of what KRAB program guides can tell us about Dave Gardner: Starting in Mar of 1971, Dave was one of several alternating hosts of "Jazz for a Sunday Afternoon". In Mar and Nov 1971, he also hosted a program of Latin American Music, "La Voz Latina" in Spanish. On Jun 13, 1978 he joined Captain Baltic in producing a program about "Tulipomania":
Jun 13, 1978 - The roots of Tulipomania began in the late 1500's and blossomed into an all-consuming passion in Holland and later in England in the mid 1600's. This is a short history of the rise and fall of the tulip bulb as a measure of wealth and the structural basis of the European financial and social system. Excerpted from Charles Mackay's Memoirs of Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds, 1841, and read by Capt. Baltic and Dave Gardner.
Then in Sep 1978, he began his series that explored a wide variety of topics and subjects, "Punkin' Patch", which continued until Nov 26, 1982, when he started Trade Winds, a music program, which he continued to produce until KRAB left the air in 1984. During much of the time, he also produced an evening music program, sometimes alternating with Captain Baltic, and occasionally a program for children, "The Children's Hour".
Note: These recordings were made off the air, so at the start of the recording you may hear the end of the previous program. Or, in the last minutes of the recording you may hear the introduction to the next program.
